Politics As Usual!

Behavior, Behavior, Behavior!

9 “But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.” ~ Titus 3:9

As a Christian, I realize that politics is a topic that often does not follow the ethics and morals that the religious community would like to see the politicians follow. However, I would like to see etiquette in debates, good behavior in political advertising, conversations that focus on issues, and details from every candidate. But the Republican candidates have chosen to engage in everything from name-calling, bullying each other, insulting each others wives, to avoiding all the major issues. So my question is really simple,

“How can voters do their job if the candidates don’t do theirs?”

Well, I guess I have already answered that question with the title of this posting…”Politics as Usual!” In fact, that is how the TEA PARTY candidates got elected, that is how Ted Cruz shut down the government, (he never gave up his paycheck but by his radical actions expected millions to give up theirs – business as usual! This is how the rich keep getting richer because the voters are kept from the truth and the facts and thus unable to make the best most educated decision – business as usual!  So I believe in Titus 3:9 put in more modern language – ‘refrain from talking about controversies, people’s families, vile plots, stop fighting amongst yourselves, and stop debating the law because all these topics are an empty conversation.’  Why are they so empty? Because those conversations are morally and ethically bankrupt! They are bankrupted because by spending time on them diverts time spent on what really matters. Topics Americans want the congress to do something about! Topics with grit, substance, meaning, and that affect each and every one of use! Topics like the,  Economy, Jobs, Education, Veterans Affairs, Foreign Policy on Terrorism, Immigration, Same-Sex Marriage, Gun Control, Taxes, Health Care, Welfare, and last but not least Climate Change to name just a very few of which all have been topping the news cycle within the last four years at least once! But the tone and rhetoric of the Republican Party (GOP) has wasted so much time and focuses on issues that make no sense. Republicans like hiding behind these issues and the laws of man because they know they can mislead the voters and or change the law or even distort  the law to suit their needs – business as usual! Shifting one’s position used to be called out as a “Flip-Flopper”  but like everything else if overused then we all get numb to it and it passes into the night, again another tactic employed by Republicans as they manipulate the news cycle – business as usual! Politicians favorite trick is built in loopholes in every law so they themselves don’t have to follow it and again famously misrepresenting the United States Constitution – business as usual! Best example yet happened back in February,  published by Politico, “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate should not confirm a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia until after the 2016 election — a historic rebuke of President Obama’s authority and an extraordinary challenge to the practice of considering each nominee on his or her individual merits.” – Burgess Everett and Glenn Thrush, (February 13, 2016)  This battle cry every single Republican Candidate that very night within a CBS NEWS Televised GOP Debate held on February 13, 2016, supported.  Trump was quoted as saying, “This is a tremendous blow to conservatism and frankly to our country,” he added. “I think it’s up to Mitch to McConnell and everybody to stop it. It’s called delay, delay, delay.” ~ The Daily Caller (February 13, 2016)

Ted Cruz stated, “His death, Cruz said, will have a “profound impact” on the Republican primary — and that voters ought to think about who the next president would nominate to the land’s highest court.”

“If Donald Trump becomes president, the Second Amendment will be written out of the Constitution because it is abundantly clear that Donald Trump is not a conservative,” Cruz said. “He will not invest the capital to confirm a conservative, so the result will be the same whether it’s Hillary [Clinton], Bernie [Sanders] or Donald Trump. The Second Amendment will go away.”

Cruz added: “Anyone that writes checks to Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid and Jimmy Carter and Hillary Clinton does not care about conservative justices on the court.” ~ Dylan Stableford (February 14, 2016)

These attitudes are at the root cause for why the Republican Party is failing, this behavior is why Planned Parenthood is under attack by no-nothing critics like Trump! But again this is business as usual.

THE TRUMP PROBLEM

25 “Woe to you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and excess.” ~ Matthew 23:25

The problem is what kind of President would Donald J. Trump make being so ambitious and reckless?  Perhaps, Donald J. Trump needs to find a way to build a better message that is less self-serving and less demeaning to women!

1-3-700x466This is his comments about his own daughter, “… she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” (ABC’s “The View,” March 6, 2006).

But this is his true feelings about women, “You have to treat ’em like shit.” (New York magazine, Nov. 9, 1992).

This is Donalds true feelings on being a nice person, “It’s always good to do things nice and complicated so that nobody can figure it out.” (New Yorker, May 19, 1997)

This is Donalds feelings about the media – which is why the Republican Party is freaking out, “If I get my name in the paper, if people pay attention, that’s what matters.” (Donald Trump: Master Apprentice, 2005)

This is what Donald Trumps thinks about relationships, “You know, it really doesn’t matter what they write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” (Esquire, 1991)

I want everyone to see that Donald J. Trump has a problem with his message. A problem that has always been there in the media but for some reason the media ignored his true thoughts and feelings. This then makes Trump have even more radical verbiage which then makes him less and less genuine as no one really never challenge him on it! If the media had back in the 1990’s maybe the media would have found that everything about him is fake! But his latest thoughts and feelings are a bit more dangerous. For example his thoughts and feelings on Nuclear Bombs, his thoughts, and feelings on Abortion, Muslims, Mexicans, the English, the French, NATO, Vladimir Putin,  the world at large! Oh…and “NO”, a Trump Presidency would not be good for women, in fact,BBB TRUMP U.1 he would set women’s rights back to the stone age! “NO”, a Trump Presidency wouldn’t be good for IMMIGRATION! “NO”,  a Trump Presidency wouldn’t be good for FOREIGN RELATIONS! Finally, Trump as President would destroy our good name around the world if not get us into a WAR! His vision of MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN is the most dangerous bloviating and misrepresentation I have ever seen it’s simply fraud! Like Cruz, Trump says one thing and then does the exact opposite and again I ask, “how can we trust someone like that?”  The simplest piece of evidence that has come forward and shows the truth about Trump is about his University. He said that it had an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau, but in fact, it does not; so if he would lie about this then what would he not lie about? But this is Trump’s business as usual! Amazing for a person who claims to not be a politician!

So this election cycle will most likely leave the Republicans with a brokered convention and another radical will get the nomination, a true blue American radical who never ran, didn’t win a state, but yet stole the delegates and the right to run for the most powerful office in the world. Talking about the world in truth many countries are freaking out just as much as everyone else over here in America with what is going on in our political election system.

I ask everyone to voice your reflections by answering the following question on our twitter account.  “Should the next President be a liar or a truth teller?” I promise to post the results.

Amen,
