INVENTORY

Antiphon (Ant.) Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Inventory psalm, as in the Ordinary, pg. 688

Psalm 95

A Call to Praise God

Encourage each other daily while it is still today (Hebrew 3:13)

(The antiphon is recited and then repeated)

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Come, let us sing to the Lord and shout with joy to the Rock who saves us. Let us approach him with praise and thanksgiving and sing joyful songs to the Lord.

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

The Lord is God, the mighty God, the great king over all gods. He holds in his hands the depth of the earth and the highest mountains as well. He made the sea; it belongs to him, the dry land, too, for it was formed by his hands.

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Come, then, let us bow down and worship, bending the knee before the Lord, our maker. For he is our God and we are his people, the flock he shepherds.

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Today, listen to the voice of the Lord: Do not grow stubborn, as your fathers did in the wilderness when at Merba and Massah they challenged me and provoked me, Although they had seen all of my works.

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Forty years I endured that generation. I said, “They are people whose hearts go astray and they do not know my ways.” So I swore in my anger, “They shall not enter into my rest.”

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever and ever. Amen.

 – Ant. Alleluia, the Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world; come, let us worship him, Alleluia.

Morning Prayer

Sunday – Week 1

– Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.

Amen. Alleluia

A SOUL THIRSTING FOR GOD

Whoever has left the darkness of sin, yearns for God.

READING – Acts 5:30-32

The Apostles Are Persecuted

30 The God of our ancestors raised up Jesus, whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Saviour, so that he might give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.’ – Acts 5:30-32 New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised Catholic Edition (NRSVACE)

CANTICLE OF Zechariah

Ant. Recieve the Holy Spirit; the sins of those you forgive shall be forgiven, (alleluia) – pg.604

INTERCESSIONS

Christ the Lord has gathered his Church in unity through the Spirit. With sure hope let us ask him:

‘Lord, make the whole world new.’

Lord Jesus, when you were raised high upon the cross, streams of living water flowed from your pierced side,

– pour out on us your life-giving Spirit.

In glory at the right-hand of God, you gave the Gift of the Father to your disciples,

send forth your Spirit, to renew the world.

You gave your Spirit to the apostles, with the power to forgive sins,

destroy all sin in the world.

You promised us the Holy Spirit, to teach us all things and remind us of all you had said,

– send us your Spirit to enlighten our minds in faith.

You promised to send the Spirit of truth, to bear witness to yourself,

send forth your Spirit to make us faithful witnesses.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Father of light, from whom every good gift comes, send your Spirit into our lives with the power of a mighty wind, and by the flame of your wisdom open the horizons of our minds. Loosen our tongues to sing your praises in words beyond the power of speech, for without your spirit man could never raise his voice in words of peace or announce the truth that Jesus is Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

PRAYER – (As in the Proper of Saints) pg.1150

BERNARDINE OF SIENA, PREIST – MAY 20

Saint Bernardine was born at Massa Marittima in Tuscany in 1380. He entered the Friars Minor and, after being ordained to the priesthood, traveled throughout Italy preaching with great success. He increased devotion to the holy name of Jesus and foster learning and discipline in his Order. He also wrote theological treatises. Saint Bernardine died at Aquila in 1444.

Father,

You gave Saint Bernardine a special love for the holy name of Jesus. By the help of his prayers, may we always be alive with the Spirit of your love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

DISMISSAL

May the Lord bless us, protect us from evil and bring us everlasting life.

AMEN.
